They’re much more slim fitting than the slim fit chinos I had gotten before, but I think they will still work

I am pleased you have come to enjoy your purchases with Charles Tyrwhitt, however, it is disappointing that you are having to steam your non-iron ultimate chinos. These have been our newest introduction to our range of trousers following a two-year project which we have been delighted with. I am sorry that the non-iron chinos do not inherently appear to be 'non-iron' as described. They are treated with not only a non-iron coating but also stain resistance and antibacterial properties. I would recommend that you try adding both pairs into a dryer (on a low temperate setting) for 5-10 minutes to reactivate the coating. Should this not address this issue, you are welcome to return this and we can exchange them for a slightly different pair.

don't like new fit the old ones were perfect

It is disappointing to learn that you have not been pleased with the fit of our newest chinos. Although you have come to like the older style and fit, the redesign has been introduced following customer feedback and will only improve how our trousers feel and fit. As you have ordered our ultimate chinos, they have been designed to have a slight taper in the leg offering a slimmer profile. Should you wish to try a pair with more of a straight/relaxed leg shape, I'd certainly recommend our soft-washed chinos within our 'Dressed to Chill' range if you'd like to return both pairs for an exchange.
